The last few weeks have seen Meeting Point’s women’s group take part in the exciting 365 Leeds Stories. The project involves artists working with a range of people who live, work or seek residence in Leeds on the creation of series of maps of the city of Leeds. These maps may be sung, expressed in textiles, written in stories, floated down the river or rendered as conventional cartographic representations, albeit with a twist.
The women’s group who meet every Wednesday have teamed up with Shadow artist Reb Caputo. The group have been exploring their stories and experiences of life in Leeds to create Map 6. Here are some photos of their progress so far. The work produced will be displayed as part of the 365 exhibition in the City Library in May.
